Find Fit Love Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 04 November 2025
Who we are: Find Fit Love (“we”, “us”, “our”)
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1) Information we collect
When you apply or enquire (free to join):
Identification & contact: name, email, mobile, city/postcode, age/date of birth.
Profile details you provide in our questionnaire: lifestyle, values, preferences, non-negotiables, and what you’re looking for.
Profile photos you upload (optional, but recommended).
Optional social handles (context check only; not used as identity proof).
Before a confirmed introduction (pre-date):
Identity details required by our verification provider (e.g., name, DOB and licence or passport details).
A one-time selfie/liveness capture done through the provider’s secure widget.
We do not store on our servers: images of your licence or passport. Our verification provider handles that step and returns a pass/fail result to us.
2) How we use your information
We use your information to:
Contact you about your enquiry, application, or introductions.
Build your private dossier (first name only, photos shown only with your consent).
Assess compatibility and curate potential matches.
Verify identity before any date (via a third-party provider).
Coordinate introductions (time/venue) once both parties opt in.
Operate, secure, and improve our website and service.
Send service emails/SMS about your application or introductions; with your consent, we may also send occasional updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Comply with law, manage risk, prevent fraud, and keep our community safe.
We don’t sell your personal information.
Sensitive information & consent
We may collect ‘sensitive information’, for example, cultural/faith background with your consent and strictly to provide matchmaking. You may skip any sensitive questions at any time.
Use of preferences
Preferences you share (including cultural/faith or height) help us prioritise compatible introductions. They guide our search but don’t guarantee outcomes or exclude all others.
Non-discrimination
We provide services without discrimination. We don’t refuse service or change terms based on protected attributes. We use client-provided compatibility notes to prioritise intros, not to gate access.
Privacy
We store sensitive info securely, limit access to staff who need it, and retain it only as long as necessary to provide services or as required by law.
3) ID verification (safety first)
When it happens: After you and a potential match both opt in to meet, we send a secure link for government-grade ID verification with selfie/liveness.
Who handles it: An accredited third-party verification provider.
What we receive: A pass/fail result, a reference ID, and a timestamp, not your ID images.
If verification fails: We allow a re-attempt. If still inconclusive, we may sight your ID on a short video call. If verification can’t be completed, we won’t proceed with the introduction.
4) Photos and dossiers
First-name dossiers: We introduce you by first name with a short values/lifestyle snapshot.
Photos by consent: We only show the photos you’ve approved. You can change or withdraw that consent any time before a dossier is shared.
Mutual opt-in: We don’t exchange last names, contact details, or schedule a date unless both parties agree.
5) Legal basis/consent (plain English)
We rely on your consent (e.g., photo sharing, ID verification), our legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, running a private matchmaking service), and contract (delivering the service you request). You can withdraw consent for photo sharing at any time; if you withdraw consent for ID verification, we can’t proceed to an introduction.
6) Who we share information with
Verification provider (to run the ID check and selfie/liveness).
Communication tools (email/SMS to contact you).
Hosting/IT/security providers that keep our systems running.
A mutually approved match (first name, approved photos, and high-level profile only).
Law enforcement or regulators if legally required or to protect rights, property, or safety.
All providers are engaged under confidentiality and security obligations. We do not sell personal information.
7) Data minimisation, storage & retention
We keep the minimum data needed to operate safely and effectively.
Verification data: we store the pass/fail result, reference ID, and timestamp; no ID images are stored on our servers.
Profile photos: stored securely for your dossier and shared only with consent.
Retention (recommended defaults):
Application/profile data: retained while you remain active, then reviewed after 24 months of inactivity.
Verification results/timestamps: retained for 18 months after your last introduction for safety/audit.
You can ask us to delete or de-identify your data (see section 10). Some records may be kept where required for audits, dispute handling, or legal obligations.
8) Security
Encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and secure storage for sensitive records.
Strict internal access controls on a “need-to-know” basis.
No ID document images stored on our servers.
Regular housekeeping: access reviews, least-privilege, secure disposal of exports.
No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
9) International processing
Some trusted providers may process data outside Australia. Where they do, we use vendors with strong security standards and contractual protections. Ask us if you want details of current sub-processors.
10) Your choices & rights
Access & correction: Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it.
Deletion: Ask us to delete or de-identify your information (subject to audit/legal limits).
Photo consent: Change or withdraw permission for photo sharing any time before a dossier is sent.
Marketing: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails/SMS at any time (instructions provided in each message).
Verification refusal: You can refuse verification, but we won’t proceed to an introduction without it.
Contact us at [info@findfitlove.com.au] to action any of the above.
11) Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies for site functionality and may use lightweight analytics to understand site usage (e.g., page views, button clicks). You can block cookies in your browser; core features should still work. If we adopt additional analytics/advertising tools later, we’ll update this section and provide choices.
12) Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; check their policies. We welcome feedback about any third-party links.
13) Children
Our service is for adults (18+). We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
14) Changes to this policy
If we change our practices, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be highlighted.
